There is no real question to answer this time, more of a curiosity on my part. I'm wondering how many people from here have met other members in real life and had a good experience? I would love to know how long you corresponded, where you met, how you felt about it. I'm a wee bit nosy, but I'm also incredibly interested in the impact that this site has had in people's real lives.

I've met quite a few from online, and always had good experiences. The time frame in which I wait, depends on the person Im conversing with. footy and I met after we talked for a year, not because either of us felt the need to wait, it was just a scheduling thing lol. With footy, we met at subway, not for lunch, but just so I could lead him to My house. I had no problems having him at My house the first time, We had already established our relationship, and as I said, we had conversed for a year. I trusted him completely, but I never do that with anyone else. A public place is where I generally meet them, even if we've decided we'll do a little play, we meet first at a public venue, then go from there, depending on how we felt after meeting initially.

Actually I've met some others in the past from other websites...I'm just wondering what you guys have experienced.

In the past I have had good and bad experiences meeting people from the net. I did have a very funny experience once. It was with someone I met from an online personal ad. We lived in the same city so after the initial email we spoke on the telephone a few times and decided to meet for a drink one night at a local place. Since the meeting was rather fast it never dawned on me to ask for a photo. He just gave me a physical description (I did the same), and told me what he would be wearing so I would know it was him.

That night I arrived at the bar before he did purposely and took a place at the bar so I could watch the door. The time we set to meet came and went and I was thinking, ok this guy is going to be a no-show and figured I would give him 5 more minutes. After glancing at the clock I noticed this really hot guy walking in the door looking around and he was wearing black suit, blue shirt which is what the guy I was meeting was supposed to be wearing. I thought to myself, this is too good to be true, this guy is actually hunky. He took a seat at the bar on the opposite side from where I was. As I was getting ready to walk out the door this short, fat, balding, almost toothless, Quasimodo looking guy walks in and beeline's for me. All the while Mr. Hunky was watching me with a huge grin on his face. Quasimodo attempted to kiss me hello and I about lost it. I said to him in a very loud obnoxious voice that not only was he late and far too ugly to look at, someone else had gained my attention. I walked away and told Mr. Hunky he could buy me a drink. Quasimodo followed me around the bar and began wimpering and begging me to talk to him and I told him that he wasn't even worthy of licking the dirt off the soles of my shoes.
Mr. Hunky was getting a good laugh out of this and we just started laughing at the pity of it all.

The moral of the story is, Mr. Hunky was vanilla and I wasn't interested but he served a purpose that night. The next night, Quasimodo called and asked if we could do it again. He loved the humiliation of it all. I just had to laugh and hang up.

I have met most people through in person introductions at various BDSM events across the country. There are some people of whom I came to know online and then met in person because we both happened to be at the same event. Less so, especially in recent years, I have set up a formal meeting with someone whom I had met online. Still, the majority of each type of introduction has been good.

As for this site, I have not met anyone whom I came to know through this site. I have, however, met several people elsewhere who are also on this site.
