Dommes umbrellas many different approaches to how dominant women cater to their subs on all levels. I've been contemplating what about the idea of brats bothers me, especially in relation to dommes. To me, brats have always demanded whatever it is they want, whereas I distinguished a domme to be able to command herself and others. A brat conveys the sort of vulnerability I think that is very....cloyingly, almot like a toy pet? Granted not all those who consider themselves dommes may do this, but it has been the result of much observation and discourse.

So, are there any submissives who more or less agree with this vague idea I'm trying articulate mind illucidating what makes someone who promotes herself as a brat as more desireable than say, a pro domme? 

 Am I totally wrong? Brat and domme are not different flavors of the same, no? Your feedback is appreciated.

I agree with you, Mercy... I am not into the bratty thing.  I feel like it is often times not Domination and consequently, the men who seek it out aren't usualy submissive, rather, the roles are engaged in a reversed power exchange of sorts where the "sub" is actually the top an the "domme" is actually the bottom.  In reality the only parallels between a Domme and a brat is the ability to manipulate, however, the means of doing so are vastly different.

Now, sometimes I am bratty- I think we all are at some point... but I distinguish Myself from those who profess it to be a staple of their character by using My intelligence to get what I want, rather than relying on My ability to whine, beg and pout.

Just think of the first thing that comes to Y/your head when the word 'brat' is mentioned. i guarantee Y/you it's not associate with something positive. Even the way the word is pronounced is....crude (mightn't be the right word to use). Typically, i don't know anyone who uses the word 'brat' and finishes the sentence on a positive note.

i don't know about how others feel, but when i was in primary/high school, i just wanted to smack the crap out of brats and make them shut up because all they did was complain and make life miserable for others. i don't and can't associate that with powerful and commanding like Y/you can with the term 'Dominant'.

Dominant's have a certain force and power over subs that it makes the sub voluntarily bow down. i mean think of it in a top down organisation structure. Y/you don't get to the top by being whiny and bratty...Y/you get to the top by being Dominant. 

If you're a sub and you bow down to a brat voluntarily then you've got to grow up.

I think being a brat is a form of domination; seems to be in the financial/blackmail domination vein.  Brats want guys to spoil them and will use certain tactics to get what they want. However there are Dommes who don't have to resort to bratty behaviour. I can see why they might look down on brats as not really Dommes. After all they have there own ways, perhaps more sophisticated methods of dominating.

Personally i like both.I think theres room for both.

I call myself a brat sometimes, and I call myself a domme sometimes. I think really I'm just a bratty domme, since I have MUCH knowledge of bdsm and fetish.

Sometimes I don't want to call myself a domme because I have distaste for the theatrical contrived way that many 'domme's act.
