Since I've come to this site, I think I've heard more horror stories about extortion than anything else.

Subs are in the most vulnerable position, yet it is their choice to be that way. whether it be someone they have had the chance to know or not is what manipulates them. If someone is so desperate to seek that sort of attention at the price of what they earn with hard work, was it right? No, but was it their fault? Yes.

Financial dommes have the responsibility of communicating everything clearly beforehand, any smoke and mirrors means the only substancial thing is the sub's money. It's not easy, but very few things in this world are, most of all finding someone who works for the other. Work hard, play hard, get smart. (ha)

I think if the world did not revolve around money, everyone would appear beautiful, and we would never know any better. Otherwise, bitterness and jealousy follow behind in the wake of its absence.

I actually see financial domination as being as legitimate as any other type of domination. I know some people don't agree with that, but I am a great believer in personal responsibility. Personal responsibility seems to be the main point of your entry, but I don't see that the Financial Domme is doing anything wrong.

She is using her power to control men to her own ends. If they are willing to be controlled (and they will only submit to it if it excites them to do so) then I say good luck to her. I think there is room in the community for lifestyle dommes, pro-dommes who don't do Financial domination (i.e. just tributing for a real-time session) and financial dommes.

It is all an expression of consensual female power and willing male submission to that female power in my opinion. Those of us who engage in exploring female power and male submission within the context of Femdom interaction ought to be more accepting of each other and less quick to judge. After all, we are a minority even within the BDSM community. We are too small a group for all this in-fighting and lack of acceptance.

Interesting entry. I enjoyed reading it.

Nothing in this lifestyle is defined by a set of rules, be it lifestyle domination or variations of professional domination.  Morality and integrity are subjective terms now a days, so the only rules that are established are those between the Domme and the sub.  If no rules- limits and expectations are set, then neither person involved has a right to complain about what does or doesn't happen as they assumed the risk when they consented to the unknown.

In these cases (extortion horror stories) you hear the subs complaining about the "dommes" who swindled them out of the 401ks...  but the issues of swindling come secondary to the issue of taking personal responsibility for one's actions.  I don't feel sorry for those who treat their fantasy as a hobby, based their actions on lust versus compatibility and as a consequence, become addicted and then expect the other party to take responibility whilst they aleviate themselves from having to.

Ms Mercenary

nice to see you writing again.
the word 'choice' can be used repeatedly, but some can see it as forced to choose and use that as an abdication of self responsibility. i have found some subs hide behind that,or use that storyline over and over. saying 'no' to desire can be difficult for some, especially when desire is presented as it can be online. but the best adage to apply in my opinion is that a 'fool and his money is easily parted', and who wants a fool for a sub?
secondly, financial domination is not clearly defined by a set of rules that i know of yet, though adequate and proper gifts for a lady has been around since adam and eve, ruining and gathering all you can take form a male seems to me to be short sighted and avaricious. if a woman truly owns a male she can have what he has in any case.

i totally 100% agree with Your second paragraph. Yes we are the most vulnerable and unfortunately more often, the most stupid (reference to Your 2nd paragraph, last sentence) because some guys struggle with the opposite sex. So when they receive attention from a gorgeous Woman, i guess they're led on to believe they're actually worth something. Who's fault that really is can go either way. All i'm saying is that people should take responsibility for their own actions.

Just on another note though, it's just unfortunate that the horror stories get more attention than the heart warming ones that are also on this website.
