While it has been popular for a number of years, the concept of meeting on line is relatively new. People have been courting since the beginning of time. Sites such as this, and even the vanilla sites like match and harmony are a new way of meeting and beginning relationships.
A good number of people don't see meeting on line as a good way to meet people, but i happen to think it is a great resource, and have met many great people, and even was in a long term relationship that began as on line.
To me, on line is a great way to get to know a lot about each other. Much thought can be put into communication when chatting by email or instant message. Over time you begin to talk by phone and eventually meet in person if you are luck enough to be nearby or have the means to travel. Naturally there are precautions one must take when meeting in person, but that is true even when meeting someone in person.
In my case i met a Domme on line. We chatted for months before we finally met. She lived far away from me, but we stayed together for over 3 years. We would see other every month or so for a weekend. We knew a lot about each other by the time we met in person and all of those months communicating on line intensified our real life relationship when it began.
i'm curious to know other's thoughts, and whether anyone else had success meeting on line.
